It was the beginning of October and I was greeted by an ocean that calmly swayed back and fourth, and crimson red leaves that played in the wind. I walked around the downtown area of Portland, Maine, for the first time after parking my car that was filled to the brim with everything I owned.
I had just accepted a job with the Portland Sea Dogs a few weeks prior and was ready to embark on a new adventure. This one in particular brought me my first full-time opportunity, and gave me the chance to come back to New England for the first time in twenty years.
